Elena is an 18 year old mechanical and computer engineer and effectively chief engineer of the Rebellion. She is an extremely talented weapons designer for her age and is especially impressive when it comes to designing artisens and machine art. When her mother is kidnapped while everyone is out looking for her as she has also been kidnapped, Elena takes it upon herself to do everything she can to get her mom back. 

Elena knows the identity of the hacker NoTrace and, after convincing her father, she convinces NoTrace AKA Thadeo Kayunimura, to help them get her mom back AND to be her master in senergy martial arts. Elena's parents do not want her fighting or engaging in military activity, but Elena is determined to become the kind of person who can defend themselves. 

Elena is an avid skater and frequently goes skating with her best friend, Dr. Amy Scuziak, the Rebellion's chief physician.
