Gorbral Oswald is the leader of the Rebellions military and one of four members of the council which governs the Rebellions actions. He is a bold, strong, courageous leader who does not accept excuses. He expects the most from his soldiers and he gives them everything he has in return. 

Gorbral's wife, Daviya, is also on the council, and together they have a duaghter, Elena, who is effectively the Rebellions chief engineer. Gorbral and Daviya are extremely protective of Elena and do not want her engaged in any military activity. 

Gorbral is deeply distrustful of outsiders and harbors resentment and anger toward the government as he was transferred to Avnice as part of a group of prisoners to be used as slave labor in the fields of Elysium. When the people of Southern Avnice came to see outdoor farming as a privilege, Gorbral and others were shipped to Tartarus from where he escaped many years ago.
