+<WRAP 60% column>Drell is an orphan who grew up doing petty crimes to survive in Red Light. He and his best friend Elmar Bloodsong decide to become brothers by bloody hand shake at the ages of 6 and 7 respectively. As they grow older, many of the other orphaned and scarcely parented children of Red Light come to see them as protectors. They run a successful pirate shop out of the Aphrexia (just south of Lageria District where Blue Light City is) by stealing from rich people who live near the border of Southern Avnice and selling the merch throughout the north east. Drell believes he can change life for the kids in Red Light by joining the police force and changing them from within, and Elmar believes that the police force can't be changed due to it's very nature of being part of the military in a country that has no borders or enemies.
+Drell and Elmar often talk about how they can change the world for all suffering people and agree that the most important thing is that the plan to lower Avnice be accelerated so there is more land for everyone to share and survive on their own. With Drell planning to join the Legionnaires, Elmar plans to leave Red Light and travel the whole continent to learn as much as he can about how people are living and what the real time line of lowering Avnice is. As such, they leave their essential third in command Yadira Reese, in charge of the operation that keeps the kids fed and sheltered as she already knows all the ropes.
+Drell joins the State Legionnaire training program dead set on rising to the top as fast as he can. A capable fighter from his years of surviving as an urchin, he completes the physical aspects of his training at an accelerated rate. Upon revealing to his commanding officer's commanding officer, Admiral Fergus Rowe, that his goal is to rise to the top as fast as possible, Rowe recommends Kuajiri for the Arcanite training program, a grueling 18 month camp designed to teach candidates the basics of senergy manipulation and reaction as well as train them in reaction assisted combat.
+Kuajiri successfully makes it through the training camp which has a 36% pass rate. Upon completion, candidates are awarded their very own self powered scepter which will drastically enhance the power of the senergetic reactions.
+Once Kuajiri begins his work as an Arcanite, he is faced with tough foes and increasingly difficult moral dilemas. The words of Elmar ring in his ears often.
+Kuajiri's belief in his ability to change the force from within is first damaged when he is reprimanded for saving the lives of a woman and her two children: the Legionnaires are performing a sting operation on a Vitamin Pharmacy Syndicate (one of the 5 major gangs of Northern Avnice) warehouse and have demolished the building as part of the mission. However, not all of the tenants of the upper floors had completely evacuated and Kuajiri uses his mineral manipulation to raise pillars from the ground to keep the building in tact, a feat which causes immediate rot and likely shortens his lifespan. When Admiral Rowe confronts him about the situation, he says, "god dammit Kuajiri, you are not a hero, you are an officer of the law and as such it is your duty to uphold and defend the institution that protects the interests of this nation" which Kuajiri is forced to repeat to demonstrate understanding and compliance.
+The second damaging instance for Kuajiri is an impossible situation where Admiral Rowe commands Kuajiri to kill an enemy combatant in order to protect a commrade on the mission. However, given that Kuajiri's perception of fellow Legionnaires has been changed by his more questionable operations and his having just met said commrade only recently, he is especially hesitant. Rowe tells Kuajiri that if he can't protect his own people then he doesn't have the right to call himself an Arcanite. With his commrade milliseconds from death, Kuajiri shoots a rock bullet through the head of the assailant. He is rewarded with a hero's medal for saving his commrade from sure death.
+The final instance which completely destroys Kuajiri's faith in the military is when he is sent on a raid in Red Light to destory a pirate gang whose leader is becoming more powerful and is suspected to be aiming to take the place of one of the Big 5 after doing a major deal with Clockwork Armory. When Kuajiri arrives at the facility to be raided, he recognizes the location, but not the building: it is he and Elmar's old pirate shop, and it is now a fortress of a building with several tough looking reactors for guards. Out of habit, Kuajiri moves when his platoon does and they begin the raid. During the fight, Kuajiri begins to recognize the combatants as the kids he used to take care of and is grateful that they are not licensed to use lethal force for the raid on anyone except the leader. When they arrive at the leaders office, he is greeted by Yadira who says she'll come with no resistance. They cuff her and beat the shit out of her anyway. As they carry her off, she asks Kuajiri, "is it working?"
+Kuajiri seeks to connect with Elmar after this case and learns that he's been imprisoned in Hades district (east of eastern Lageria District). As such, Kuajiri divises a plan: he creates a mineral seed which will trigger an earthquake after a designated amount of time which he sets for 2 years and leaves directly above the prison where Elmar is being held. He then gets arrested for giving the Rebellion military grade ACS equipment and attack his commanding officer, Admiral Rowe (who he beats in their fight). Once imprisoned, he is fortunately sent to the same facility as Elmar. However, he is surprised to learn that they are imprisoned deep underground in a facility where the gravity is increased the 10 times it's normal effect which kills most new arrivals. Those that survive are forced to perform labor and Elmar and Drell get reacquainted during these times as a result. Drell asks Elmar why they would manipulate the gravity rather than some other form of torture since this ultimately makes them stronger, and Elmar reveals that part of the reason he was sought by the government is his knowledge of the gravity manipulation fields: that 1, they plan to use the prisoners bodies as domiciles for AI super soldiers completely under their control, 2, the gravity in Southern Avnice is equivalient to surface gravity, but the gravity in Northern Avnice is actually slightly lower making Northern Avnian citizens inherently weaker than those in the North, a fact Drell has a difficult time believing. Even so, Kuajiri tells Elmar that he got arrested on purpose in order to break Elmar out which causes Elmar to cry and finally believe that Kuajiri is still his old friend.
+When the time comes, the earth quake Kuajiri set happens and they use the chaos and the cracks created in the facility to escape with several commrades including Yadira and Elmar's best friend from being in priosn, Zafo Wevver.
+After escaping, Elmar Bloodsong re-starts his attempt at organization, this time as less of a gang and more of a second option behind the rebellion who he deems ineffective as they are too focused on peace. He calls the new organization Unrise and makes Kuajiri his second in command. They are a fearsome force once back on the surface as the intense gravity of the super prison has made their senergy and bodies so strong that there is virtually no Rot repercussions when they perform senergy reactions, even without a Totem or Scepter.
+Kuajiri becomes dedicated to investigating Elmar's belief that the military intended to turn their bodies into domiciles for AI super soldiers, and in doing so he betrays Unrise and rejoins the military to the dismay of everyone except Elmar who knows about the plan. In Drell's investigation, he discovers a secret government project called Genetocide which will be introduced to society as a medical company focused on elimintaing the "Evolver threat" (at this point in the story, Evolvers are being marginalized and ostracized after it is revealed that being an Evolver, someone without unique Soul Data, is the source of the Veiled Maiden's horrifying powers) from society, but with the actual purpose of essentially turning Evolver's into literal weapons i.e. using their Soul Particles to create unsigned Soul Fragments as scepters and using ACS to insert them into the domiciles made from the bodies of the prisoners in super gravity facilities making an army of AI controlled super soldiers. When he discovers this information, however, he is tracked down by Admiral Rowe in the act of stealing the data who says, "I always knew you were worthless like the rest of them" before crushing Drell's head into a bloody mess with his air compression. Headless, Drell's still standing body presses the button to send Elmar the data regarding Genetocide. This single act goes on to propel Unrise as the leading force of dissent from the government ahead of the Rebellion due to battles Unrise is able to win and Elmar's charismatic and incendiary personality being even further emboldened by the death of his friend.
